A little bit about Melissa:

I live in the sunny state of Queensland in Australia. I am a stay at home single mum to a beautiful 3.5yr old boy Nate and have two equally adorable poodles, Maxi 14yrs and Stanley 8yrs, they are father and son.

What do you like about Bisous PDQ products?

Firstly, I love the colours, then the gorgeous cut outs in each and every page, I am an addict for fussy cutting, and once you cut out a picture, you can 3d it, I love this effect. Then there is the way you can make an album super fast as a gift for someone or for myself in one afternoon, I love that the papers are double sided and there is two of each in every kit, I would hate to miss any cut out goodness on those pages. Have I mentioned everything co-ordinates, I find layouts are less expensive to complete, and can be simple or very detailed. I can on one day not have much time and still be super happy with my quick layout. The Bisous range suits my lifestyle you could say.


How long have you been scrapbooking and what made you start?

I started scrapping about a year after Nate was born so approximately 2 .5 years now.


What is your favorite thing about scrapbooking and crafting?

This is a double whammy for me, not only am I documenting those special moments, both good and bad, messy or mischievous about my little boy, I am also expressing myself by creating and also documenting things about myself that I may forget to tell him later. I often wonder to myself, how can you NOT scrapbook?

I still cannot identify my specific style and really anything goes with me, I love starting with a sketch, but will almost always deviate off track completely, and will give most techniques a try. I like simple layouts and other times I fill up the page with heaps of embellishments. It’s just my style.

I don’t make many Off the Page projects or mini albums, but one day this may change.


Do you have any tips to pass along so people can create more efficiently?

Something I hear time and time again in Scrapbooking is don’t stick things down on your layout until you are happy where everything is positioned. It took me some time for it to sink in, but after pulling things off my pages time and time again, it is now the golden rule for me, and the only other thing I would like to recommend is to Scrap for you, use the colours you love to use, the embellishments you like there is no right or wrong way, just enjoy every aspect of this precious craft they call Scrapbooking.
